Jennie Rand - Faculty

Jennie attended Acadia University for her Certificate of Applied Science before obtaining her Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Dalhousie University in 2001.  After working in the consulting industry for two years, she returned to enroll in the Master’s of Applied Science degree at Dalhousie, from which she transferred into the Doctorate of Civil Engineering program.  Jennie is now an Associate Professor in the Ivan Curry School of Engineering at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS. Her research interests include water and wastewater treatment, with a focus on disinfection and water quality in distribution systems. 

Dr. Rand holds the A.D. Foulis Chair in Engineering at Acadia University.  She is a member of Engineers Nova Scotia (APENS), American Water Works Association (AWWA), Atlantic Canada Water and Wastewater Association (ACWWA), Canadian Water Network (CWN), and the Water Environment Federation (WEF). She currently acts as the Technical Director on the Board of ACWWA, and also holds adjunct status with the Department of Civil and Resource Engineering at Dalhousie and the Biology Department at Acadia University.
